A Luau to Remember: Community, Neighbors, and Leaders United

This past weekend, Michael Herman hosted his 23rd annual luau that brought together neighbors, friends, and community leaders in an evening filled with joy, laughter, and connection.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presence of Congressman Glenn Ivey and his wife, Jolene Ivey, who joined the celebration and shared words of encouragement with attendees. Their presence underscored the importance of community, connection, and the role of leadership that truly listens and engages.
What made the night so special was the way it blended neighbors and elected representatives seamlessly. From heartfelt conversations to shared laughter under the glow of string lights, it was a reminder that community is strongest when everyone—residents, friends, and leaders—comes together.
As always, Michael Herman’s gift for bringing people together shone through. His ability to create spaces where bonds are strengthened and new friendships form is what makes gatherings like this so meaningful.
In a time when connection matters more than ever, this luau was proof that when community gathers, something truly magical happens. Check out more pictures on our IG.
